Professionally installed under-sink reverse osmosis water filtration system

Visual representation only. Final installation layout depends on cabinet dimensions and existing plumbing.

What is reverse osmosis?

Reverse osmosis is a point-of-use water treatment process that uses pressure to move water through a semi-permeable membrane. The system separates a portion of dissolved material and sends filtered water to a dedicated faucet.

Is Waterloo Region tap water safe to drink?

Municipal drinking water is treated, monitored and tested against provincial requirements. Household filtration is an optional choice for taste, dissolved-solids reduction and convenience, not proof that municipal water is unsafe.

Does reverse osmosis soften water?

RO reduces dissolved mineral content in the filtered drinking-water stream. It is not a whole-home softener and will not prevent hardness scale at showers, toilets, the water heater or every household fixture.

How much does the system cost?

A standard Blink H2O under-sink system is $550 CAD all-in, including the system, professional installation, standard materials, commissioning, first-year replacement filters and one year of workmanship warranty.

Are there hidden installation fees?

No standard labour fee is added later. If photos show non-standard plumbing repair, unusual access or specialized drilling, we identify and discuss it before booking.

How long does installation take?

Most standard installations take about two to three hours, including setup, faucet mounting, connections, flushing, testing and a homeowner orientation.

Will it fit under my sink?

Most kitchens have enough room for the compact tankless system. We confirm cabinet dimensions and plumbing access before the appointment.

Do I need a separate faucet?

Yes. The RO system normally supplies a slim dedicated drinking-water faucet. An unused soap-dispenser opening may be suitable, or a new opening can be placed with your approval.

Can you drill granite or quartz?

Many stone-counter installations are possible, but material, thickness, access and risk must be assessed before drilling. Existing accessory holes are preferred when available.

Does the system need electricity?

The compact tankless model may require a nearby standard electrical outlet for its pump, display and controls. We confirm power availability before booking.

How much water does RO waste?

RO creates filtered product water and a reject-water stream. The ratio varies by system design, water pressure, temperature and membrane condition. We can share the specification for the model quoted for your home.

What does TDS mean?

Total dissolved solids is a conductivity-based estimate of dissolved content. It is useful for observing system performance, but it is not a complete test for safety or every individual contaminant.

What contaminants can RO reduce?

Depending on the certified system and filters, RO can reduce dissolved solids and many substances such as lead, certain PFAS, nitrates, fluoride and other dissolved compounds. We match every reduction claim to the performance documentation for the system we install.

Does it remove chlorine?

The carbon stages are designed to reduce chlorine taste and odour while helping protect the RO membrane. Performance depends on the filter specification and replacement schedule.

Will filtered water taste different?

Many people describe RO water as cleaner or more neutral because mineral content and taste-affecting compounds are reduced. Taste is personal and incoming water varies.

How often are filters changed?

Pre- and post-filters are commonly replaced around once a year, while membranes often last longer. Actual timing depends on the equipment, household use and incoming water.

Are my first-year filters really included?

Yes. The first scheduled replacement filters for year one are included with the $550 package. The final handoff should clearly state which cartridges are included.

What does the warranty cover?

Blink H2O includes a one-year workmanship warranty on the installation. Equipment warranty coverage depends on the final manufacturer and model documentation.

Can renters install an RO system?

Often, yes, with written landlord approval. The system can generally be removed, but the plumbing and faucet opening changes should be explained before permission is requested.

Can you install in a condo?

Usually, subject to cabinet fit and condo rules. Owners should confirm any building approval, insurance or licensed-trade requirements before scheduling.

Can RO water be used for baby formula?

Follow the preparation directions on the formula and advice from your child’s healthcare professional or local public health unit. Filtration does not replace safe handling, correct mixing or sterilization guidance.

Will RO remove healthy minerals?

RO reduces many dissolved minerals in the filtered stream. People generally obtain essential minerals from food. Anyone with a medical or dietary concern should speak with a qualified healthcare professional.

Do you service Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and Guelph?

Yes. These four cities are the core service area, with nearby communities considered based on weekly route availability.

How do I book?

Submit the four-field installation form with your name, phone, postal code and preferred date. Blink H2O confirms fit, timing and the standard price before the appointment.
